August 8th (Saturday) - 7:00 pm. - Prairie Street Jazz Band performs at Ohuta park. Poster coming soon. Good will donations at the performance will go to The Lake City Music Boosters.
August 15th (Saturday) - 7:00 pm. Live Music at the LCAA - Mike Munson Trio. Doors open at 6:30 and music starts at 7:00. Welcome the Mike Munson Trio's first time at LCAA! The Mike Munson Trio joyfully traverses the melancholic corners of American music much like Edward Hopper did with a paintbrush on canvas. Creating an incomparable rhythm section of three, Munson is joined by Nick Salisbury on bass and Lars-Erik Larson on drums. Together they explore Munson’s newest original compositions, transportive jazz-like instrumentals and tragic Americana ballads, exhibiting a symmetry that is easy on the ears.
August 16th (Sunday) - An afternoon of Piano Music! Taking advantage of temporarily having 2 grand piano's in our gallery, we'll be offering an afternoon of piano music. Free will donations welcomed. See linked poster.
Prelude: 1:30 - 2:15 The afternoon will begin with a prelude featuring Lisa Wallerich, family, and friends, performing a variety of piano solos and duets.
Dueling Pianos: 2:30 - 3:30 Musicians Jon Davis and Jason Wright will perform an hour of relaxing jazz dueling piano.
August 23rd (Sunday) - 1:30 pm. - Live Music at the LCAA - John Kerns. Doors open at 1:00, Music starts at 1:30. Suggested donation at the door: $5. A dynamic music with a creative style. John’s unique ability to blend rhythm, melody, and texture leaves audiences cheering and wanting more. For more information visit: https://linktr.ee/kernsey Poster coming soon.
August 29th (Saturday) - 7:00 pm. Celebrate World Cultures - Eqypt. Join us for our next Celebrate World Cultures Event - Eqypt! Enjoy the sights, sounds, and tastes of Eqypt including dancing by Blue Lotus Dance Company. We thank the Greater Lake City Community Foundation - weInvest365 for a grant which is being used toward this event. Tickets will be available at Fresh Market starting August 1st and are available online using the QR code on this linked poster. Tickets are $20 in advance or $25 at the door if seating is available. An Egyptian tasting menu is included in the price of this event.

Regularly scheduled events
Note: Please check our calendar for unexpected changes to this schedule.
Tuesday, 10 am-noon - Open Studio Hours during the Music Circle* hosted by Sam Poppleton. Music Circle members (as well as those who visit to enjoy listening to the music) are encouraged to be members of the LCAA...membership funds help us keep the doors open.
Tuesday, 7-8 pm - Community Choir practice- The Community Choir is taking a short break and will resume practices after the end of the year. The Community Choir is led by Lisa Wallerich and is open to community members (adults and high school aged).
Wednesday (the first Wednesday of the month), 3-5 pm., Monthly Storytellers' meeting - members meet to share their recent written works or verbal stories. Both prose and poetry are welcome, whether written or oral. Often there are suggested topics for the month, but please feel free to bring whatever you have to share.
Thursdays:
10-noon - Adult coloring group led by Billie Hunt starts up again on Thursday, September 4th. Note, the new day and time.
6-8 pm - Music JAM! This is a weekly JAM session led by Andrew Eggenberger and Jeff Bartelt. Bring an instrument, JAM, and learn from your fellow musicians.
6-8 pm - Open Studio Hours led by artist, Roger Rose. Open Studio is a non-structured time for art-making, creative experimentation, and material exploration. Non-structured means that there are no lessons taught. All art forms are welcome.
6-8 pm - Stitches. Textile and Fiber Artists are encouraged to join Open Studio the first Thursday of each month starting in October. It doesn't matter whether you knit, crochet, embroider, weave or quilt - join your fellow Stitch and fiber enthusiasts at LCAA.
Fridays, 10 am-2 pm - Open hours. Stop in and see the current exhibit if you missed the opening reception.
